QDOX LABS / HUMANOTICS
Less strain.
More possibility.
Humanotics is robotics designed around the human, to extend what people can do. Our focus is physical assistance that could make demanding or repetitive work easier.
Quadruped
A programme for learning through a legged body. Design is in progress, with structure and the foundations of movement as the starting point.
Design in progressHumanoid
A human-shaped robotics programme in the pipeline, motivated by the possibility of physical help in the places people already live and work.
In the pipelineBegin with
the person doing it.
Carrying, reaching, cleaning and repeating the same motion can take a toll. We want to understand where a machine could offer useful support—and what that support would need to feel practical in everyday life.
The task, the setting and the person’s choices should shape the robot from the beginning.
From intent to action
A useful instruction has to meet the realities of a physical task. Our research interests connect mechanics, computing and the ways people direct a machine.
Research & methodsCooperation people can direct
Robot teams and software agents raise questions about shared tasks, permissions and personal context. Agent Labs is where we frame that future research agenda.

Quadruped design is in progress and the humanoid remains in the pipeline. Neither programme is an available robot or a demonstrated system for everyday assistance.
