QDOX / QuadrupedDESIGN IN PROGRESS

Four legs.
Firm foundations.

Our quadruped is a research platform for understanding legged robotics. The design programme starts with structure, joints and the mechanical foundations of a useful robot.

A design is a question until it is tested.

The programme brings together geometry, mechanical interfaces, load analysis and physical-fit planning. A clean model is only one part of the evidence: real dimensions, assembly access, materials and loads still matter.

01

Physical integration

Check how actuators, supports, electrical components and service access fit together.

02

Evidence before release

Keep nominal geometry, simulations and physical measurements distinct, with unresolved conditions visible.

03

A foundation for learning

Use the platform to build practical understanding of mechanics and control. Walking performance requires its own experimental evidence.

CURRENT STATUS

Quadruped design is in progress. The accompanying paper reviews public methods for mechanical contact and validation; it reports no QDOX robot test results.
